El Camino de la Muerte - Death Road We started on 4700m in chilly temperatures. After blessing the bicycle, the street and ourselves, we started the 60km descent We started on a regular road ... ... but already steeply downhill
The more interesting part of the descent, the unsealed road, started 20km later The road being unsealed was never a problem, the sheer 700m drop however was a little bit scarier
On the way down you can see some wrecks which went off the road ...
... and some so called Bolivian warning signs. There's only little traffic but 200 to 300 fatalities each year ... ... and you can imagine how that happens.
Waterfall on the trail. We've been lucky with the weather. After arrival 60km later, 3600m below and 20 degrees warmer
